We are seeking an experienced HIL/Lab Car Technician with 5+ years of relevant experience for a project for one of our premium German OEM’s.

 

The role requires an onsite presence at one of our new validation facilities in Electronic City, however on a daily basis you will need to work closely with our European engineering teams. 

Responsibilities

  • Set up and maintain Lab cars and HiL systems, including manual setup of E/E test sites.
  • Build structures for Lab cars and HiL systems.
  • Construct equipment racks and perform metalwork fabrication where required
  • Load equipment rack as per layout drawing and wire per system schematic
  • Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints
  • Troubleshoot fabrication or wiring issues when requested
  • Solder and crimp connectors where needed
  • Instrument ECUs, assemble connectors and harnesses to connect between the ECUs and test systems.
  • Identify and troubleshoot errors effectively in abstract subject areas.
  • Maintain register and inventory of tools and electrical consumables. 
  • Collaborate with testing teams at the test site to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Apply technical understanding of modern vehicle electrical/electronic systems to testing and problem-solving.
  • Evaluate customer functions and overall vehicle systems, understanding vehicle operations.
  • Independently manage tasks with a high level of organization and coordination.
  • Foster a high degree of learning and adaptability to stay updated with emerging technologies.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in vehicle electrical/electronic (E/E) systems, wiring, and hardware, with expertise in setting up and maintaining Lab cars and Hardware in the Loop systems.

  • Academic or technical background in electrical engineering or a related field is desired.
  • Experienced in vehicle electrical/electronic systems (e.g., wiring and hardware setup) and setting up E/E test sites manually.
  • Must have experience in:
    • Fabrication and Instrumentation skills.
    • Test equipment and perform basic troubleshooting
  • Beneficials to understand modern vehicle customer functions and overall systems
  • Structured, independent work style with keen attention to detail.
  • Prior experience in E/E testing at test sites will be beneficial.
  • Familiarity with organizational and coordination tasks in technical environments.
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks with changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work and think independently and ensuring to meet deadlines
  • Strong Problem-solving skills are expected.
  • The position requires both
    • Daily onsite attendance to our engineering facilities in Electronic city 
    • Alignment with our German teams work hours to ensure support coverage at the test facilities.
