A dynamic and fast-growing engineering company headquartered in Munich, Germany employing around 2350 employees globally across 20 project locations in 8 countries including multiple locations across the UK.

We are seeking a number of highly skilled Java Lead/Java Developer to join our team at our customer's location in either in London or Birmingham, with a required five-day presence in the office.

The ideal candidate will have over 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java and Spring Boot along with years in front-end development using React or Angular.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java applications using Spring Boot, along with front-end components using React or Angular.
• Build and manage APIs and microservices in line with modern software architecture practices.
• Work with RDBMS and NoSQL databases (e.g., Couchbase, Cassandra, MongoDB), and contribute to big data solutions using Scala, Spark, and Data Lake.
• Deploy and manage applications in Kubernetes and cloud environments such as AWS.
• Participate in end-to-end development project lifecycle activities within Agile operating models, including planning, design, development, testing, and stakeholder demonstrations.
• Collaborate effectively in a diverse, global team environment within the Financial Services domain.
• Deliver clear technical presentations, troubleshoot issues independently, and communicate proactively with stakeholders.

Requirements

• Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java and Spring Boot along with years in front-end development using React or Angular.
• Proven expertise in developing APIs and microservices, ensuring scalable and efficient systems.
• Strong experience working with relational databases (RDBMS) and NoSQL databases like Couchbase, Cassandra, or MongoDB.
• Familiarity with Scala, Apache Spark, and Data Lake architectures, as well as cloud platforms like AWS and Kubernetes is preferred
• Experience working in Financial Services and involvement in all phases of the development project lifecycle, including Agile methodologies will be an added advantage.
• Python will be an added advantage.
• Experience with creating CI/CD pipelines to streamline the development and deployment process.
• Commit to a full-time onsite presence (5 days a week) at our client offices in either London or Birmingham.
