As a Databricks Application Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting and maintaining enterprise-grade data pipelines and applications, ensuring their stability, performance, and availability. You will manage production support activities, incident resolution, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is based Pan India with a hybrid work model, offering flexibility while supporting critical 24/7 operations. Responsibilities
• Provide L2/L3 support for Databricks-based applications and data pipelines.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents within agreed SLAs.
• Perform proactive application health checks and monitoring reviews.
• Ensure high availability and reliability of data pipelines and supporting applications.
• Participate in application deployment and release support activities.
• Manage and support Incident Management, Problem Management, and Change Management processes.
• Handle and coordinate Major Incident Management (MIM) activities.
• Perform impact analysis and execute standard changes in production environments.
• Ensure compliance with ITIL best practices and operational procedures.
• Investigate production issues and perform detailed troubleshooting.
• Prepare and document Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports for critical incidents.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce recurring issues.
• Drive continuous service improvement initiatives.
• Review system alerts, logs, dashboards, and monitoring metrics.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and recommend optimization solutions.
• Support operational readiness reviews and capacity planning activities.
• Create and maintain operational support documentation and runbooks.
• Create and manage vendor support tickets.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors for issue resolution and escalation management.
• Provide regular status updates to business and technical stakeholders.
• Participate in service review meetings and operational governance activities.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
• Collaborate with development teams to improve release reliability.
• Contribute to deployment automation and operational efficiency initiatives.
• Support environment management and release validation activities.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 5-7 years of experience in application support, production support, or AMS environments.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks applications and data engineering solutions.
• Strong experience in troubleshooting distributed data processing systems.
• Good understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD methodologies.
• Experience working in ITIL-driven support environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Databricks Apps, Declarative Pipelines, PySpark (Structured Streaming), Delta Lake concepts, and Databricks Workflows.
• Skilled in backend technologies including Python, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, and Alembic.
• Familiarity with frontend technology React.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, log monitoring, and application performance monitoring.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git-based source control, deployment automation, and release management.
