The focus of the Kochi office is on Automotive Electronics. We are working on making the car of the future autonomous, electric, and connected. As a strategic development partner, we support our customers throughout the entire product development process: from development to system integration to after-sales. In addition, we offer innovative tooling solutions ranging from HIL systems to cloud-based test infrastructures.

We are looking for a Functional Safety Engineer to join our team in Kochi. As a member of our in-tech team, you will work with experienced engineers from different countries and with the latest technology every day.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the functional safety development of new or modified vehicle systems, in line with ISO 26262.
• Develop and maintain key safety documentation, including the Safety Plan, Item Definition, Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA), Functional and Technical Safety Concepts, Safety Goal Validation Plan and Report, and the Safety Case Report.
• Perform in-depth Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) to identify and prioritize failure modes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that functional safety requirements are correctly implemented and maintained.
• Evaluate supplier deliverables and assess their capability to meet Customer-specific functional safety expectations.
• Provide guidance and support to cross-functional teams to help them achieve their functional safety objectives.

Requirements

As Functional Safety Engineer you will be responsible for functional safety for Customer developed products.

• 5+ years of experience in a similar role is expected.

• Certification in an applicable safety standard (E.g. TUV SUD Functional Safety Certification) is mandatory.
• Knowledgeable of automotive/Rail systems and system development is necessary.
• Familiarity with Application Software and Communication protocols.
• A degree with honors in Electrical, Electronic, Electro-mechanical, Automotive, Software Engineering, or a related discipline is expected. Equivalent qualifications in engineering or IT, supported by substantial relevant experience, will also be considered.
• Proficiency in system and functional safety standards, particularly ISO 26262, is required.
• At Customer, you will work as part of a cross-functional, international team where English is the primary language for both written and verbal communication.
