We are looking for a Senior Jira & Confluence Consultant will administer, configure, and optimise Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence for a high-security UK customer in Stevenage, including workflows, automation, permissions, Confluence spaces, and L2/L3 support. The role requires 4–12+ years of enterprise Atlassian experience, strong JQL/automation and REST API skills, and UK nationality with eligibility for SC security clearance, plus leadership of Cloud/Data Centre migrations and stakeholder-facing governance. Responsibilities

  1. Administer and optimise Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence (Cloud/Data Center).
  2. Configure Jira/JSM projects (workflows, schemes, screens, fields, permissions, notifications, security).
  3. Design and manage Confluence spaces, templates, knowledge bases, and content governance.
  4. Manage user and access provisioning, including groups, roles, and SSO/identity integrations.
  5. Set up Scrum/Kanban boards, dashboards, filters, reports, and Advanced Roadmaps for Agile teams.
  6. Provide L2/L3 support and resolve complex workflow, permission, JQL, integration, and performance issues.
  7. Monitor platform health, capacity, logs, backups, restore tests, and routine maintenance within SLAs.
  8. Plan and execute Atlassian migrations and consolidations using JCMA and CCMA.
  9. Implement Jira Automation and build dashboards/reports to improve processes and data quality.
  10. Collaborate with stakeholders and contribute to Atlassian standards, guidelines, and governance.

 

Requirements

  1. 4–12+ years Atlassian admin/consulting experience in enterprise environments.
  2. Strong Jira Software and Confluence administration, including space and permission management.
  3. Good understanding of Atlassian Cloud and Data Center architectures and constraints.
  4. Expert in Jira workflows, schemes, permissions, screens, custom fields, JQL, filters, and dashboards.
  5. Hands-on experience with Jira Automation (Cloud rules, ScriptRunner or similar).
  6. Proven use of JCMA and CCMA for migration planning and execution.
  7. Experience with Atlassian REST APIs for integration, automation, and data extraction.
  8. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex configuration and integration issues.
  9. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  10. UK National eligible for SC clearance (held or attainable); Atlassian certifications, ITIL/JSM, and secure environment experience preferred.
  11. SC clearance and work from office is must.
